Revell 04895 1:32 F-4F Phantom II WTD61 Flight Test Plastic Model Kit

For a long time the Revell Phantom F-4E/F was regarded as the workhorse of Western Air Forces. Originally developed for use on American aircraft carriers, it has a really robust airframe that can survive even after heavy damage during combat. Numerous records were broken by the Phantom and a total of over 5000 aircraft were produced. The German Air Force procured 185 Phantom F-4F aircraft. On 7 March 1974 the first two F-4F's landed in Wittmundhafen for Fighter Wing 71. In addition to its primary use as a fighter the Phantom also received a secondary role as Tactical Combat Aircraft. The Phantom was finally retired from active service in the summer of 2013. For this occasion WTD 61 presented a particularly successful farewell livery that drew great response.
