The Squirrel family are known in Sylvania as the Furbanks.
Kenneth Furbanks loves acting and directing – telling people what
to do with a big booming voice and dramatic gestures.
Emma Furbanks calls everyone ‘darling’ or ‘lovely’. That’s
because she’s always so busy trying to remember her lines that she forgets
everyone’s names!
Douglas Furbanks known as Junior, spends most of his time in an
imaginary world of his own – a world populated by pirates, white knights &
bright green fire breathing dragons.
Greta Furbanks is the exact opposite of her brother. Quiet and
with both feet planted firmly of the ground, Greta is a perfectionist.
Everything (especially her acting) has to be ‘just right’.

The Hedgehog family are known in sylvania as the Brambles.
A busy family of talented tailors and dressmakers,making clothes for everyone.
Mortimer Bramble is the Sylvanian tailor. He makes all the clothes for everyone in Sylvania. He loves sewing while gently rocking in his rocking chair.
Eleanor Bramble designs and makes all the special Sylvanian costumes like wedding outfits and Sunday best clothes.
Abigail Bramble likes designing clothes. She’s especially good at designing dresses and frocks for herself which, if she is good, Mortimer and Eleanor make for her.
Maxwell Bramble is learning how to be a tailor like his dad. He’s particularly good at measuring up material, but he can’t with the needles and scissors, as these can be dangerous.

The Rabbit family are known in Sylvania as the Cottontail Family.
Father Aaron Cottontail is a down-to-earth and hardworking furniture maker, who takes great pride in his family and his work. He is such a skilled craftsman.
Mother Sorrel Cottontail is a practical mother and homemaker who spends all her spare time-which is not much- decorating and improving the family’s beautiful home.
Brother Gromwell Cottontail is a very energetic boy who loves football and cricket. He has the untidiest bedroom in Sylvania.
Sister Willow Cottontail is always up to something. Her father says she should have been called Wild not Willow. Whether up a tree or down a hole; she’s always in trouble.

The Badger Family are known in Sylvania as the Underwood`s.
Benjamin Underwood and his family are wandering Sylvania in their caravan.
Benjamin is an expert at mending broken furniture and putting up shelves.
Beatrix Underwood is a very capable badger indeed. Her father had always inspired her with his motoring stories and so from an early age, Beatrix became interested in the mechanics of any vehicle with wheels.
Byron Underwood takes after his grandfather who was the Sylvanian society photographer of his day.
Bess Underwood is known for her striking features, and her beauty is the talk of Sylvania.

The Beaver Family are known in Sylvania as the the Waters.
Father, Wade Waters is the best house builder and carpenter in the Sylvanian woods. He can build you anything from a tree house to a large family home on the hills of Sylvania.
Mother, Nancy Waters is a great gardener who grows the most beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables in the whole of Sylvania. She’s famous for her miniature roses and sweet peas.
Brother, Roger Waters is very friendly and sporty, making him so popular that he was voted head-boy of his school, a job he takes very seriously.
Sister, Misty Waters daydreams all the time. Her favorite daydream is of being a famous dancer. She imagines being the principal ballerina in Swan Lake or topping the bill in the theatre production of Cats.

The Otter Family are known in Sylvania as the Vandykes.
Ebb Vandyke lives with the rest of the family on the 'Rose of Sylvania', travelling up and down the river chatting to everyone he meets. He hates rubbish and is always telling people to keep the riverbank tidy.
Flo Vandyke helps to navigate the 'Rose of Sylvania', but her main job is teaching everybody, no matter how old, how to swim. She always starts her classes by stressing how dangerous the river can be.
Brook Vandyke is forever in trouble, not because he's naughty, but just plain nosey
Spring Vandyke is very artistic and is responsible for all the decorations on the 'Rose of Sylvania'..

The Dalmation family are known in Sylvania as the Kennelworths.
Montgomery Kennelworth really enjoys doing his own decorating. He fully enjoys the boring bits, like sanding down the woodwork and stripping off the old wallpaper.
Dorothy Kennelworth is a workaholic and loves to help Montgomery. If she's not doing this she's doing that. In fact she seems to be doing 101 things all at the same time.
Clara Kennelworth is altogether more serious. She loves doing crosswords and lots of different competitions. But most of all, her favourite is the "Sylvanian Spot the Difference" competition in the local paper.
Rufus Kennelworth is an easy-going, fun loving little boy. As everything seems so simple to him; his father says that: "He sees everything in black and white".

The Bear family are known in Sylvania as the Marmalades.
Maurice Marmalade is an old fuddy duddy. He's incredibly fussy and
makes sure that everything is neat and tidy. "A place for everything and everything in its place," is his motto.
Margot Marmalade believes in keeping up appearances. She even has a special voice for answering the telephone!
Oscar Marmalade loves all sports, especially any games where he can get dirty! His father is always telling him off about his appearance.
Ottilee Marmalade is a tomboy who wants to be a firefighter when she grows up. She loves to practise her firefighting skills with the garden hose.

The Penguin family are known in Sylvania as the DeBurgs.
Father Louis de Burg runs a specialist catering company providing all your needs, be it a wedding party, anniversary celebration or a large summer picnic for the whole of Sylvania.
Mother Perma de Burg is the maitradee in the family catering business, taking the bookings and ensuring the customers enjoy their meal. She is a very busy lady running the business and the family home.
Brother Frost de Burg is the waiter in the family business, when he is not working hard at school or playing football with his friends.
Sister Storm de Burg is top of her class at mathematics, lucky, because she runs the company accounts in her spare time after school.

The Reindeer family are known in Sylvania as the Moss’s.
Father Cameron Moss is a journalist on the 'Forest Telegraph'; Sylvania's biggest newspaper. Everyone says you'll always find Cameron wherever there's a news story.
Mother Rowena Moss is Editator of the 'Forest Telegraph'. which means she is Cameron's boss! She doesn't 'boss' him around much, just check his work meticulously.
Brother Buck Moss is known as 'Scoop to all his friends, because he runs the school magazine called 'The pupil', which he fills with tips on how to do your homework and who did what!
Sister Juniper Moss is very artistic and is always doing drawings to illustrate Buck's magazine features and stories.

The Buttermilk Rabbit family are known in Sylvania as the Periwinkle family.
Alex, the Sylvanian sign writer, His biggest job to date was preparing the signs and banners for the Brambles Department Store.
Kate helps her husband, Alex, with the design and use of colour in his work as well as looking after the family.
Oliver is very good at tennis. When his grandfather, Mack, told him that one day he might become the Sylvanian Open Tennis Champion, he thought that he was joking.
Rebecca is an all-round athlete, playing rounders and hockey for the school and tennis with her brother, whom she just loves to beat. She is always hopping from one game to another.

The White Mouse family are known in Sylvania as the Hawthorns.
Hickery Hawthorn is a very happy-go-lucky mouse, He wants the quiet life, but his children are noisy and his wife, Imogen, nags him morning, noon and night.
Imogen Hawthorn is one for getting up early and making start on cleaning the house and preparing breakfast..
Bryce Hawthorn is just like his dad. Quiet, thoughtful and always easy to please, he wouldn't say 'boo' to a goose. But put him on a football pitch and he turns into a little devil, who's loud and aggressive.
Laurel Hawthorn is a very busy little girl. In between practising her signature and learning 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' on her piano.

The Hamster Family are known in Sylvania as the Hamilton Family.
Huckleberry Hamilton is the blacksmith. He enjoys nothing better than hammering the shoes for the Sylvanian ponies into shape on his anvil.
Hilda Hamilton is the riding instructor. She is very lucky in that whenever any of the ponies throw a shoe, she can lead them straight to her husband who carries out the necessary repair.
George Hamilton is officially the apprentice blacksmith, but he'd much rather join Douglas Furbanks in his latest stage production. His dream is to one day play the male lead.
Jane Hamilton is very hard working and helps her mother, Hilda, at the riding school, brushing and cleaning to earn some pocket money. She also loves to help Captain Seadog on the Canal Boat, but does this free of charge, as she has so much fun!

The Sheep family are known in Sylvania as the Dales.
Ewan Dale is in charge of the Sylvanian orchards, keeping the grass short and the place tidy. He is very proud of his Victoria plums and crisp, crunchy Cox’s pippins.
Barbara Dale is the real family expert on fruit trees of every kind. Her busiest times are late autumn and early spring, when she is in the orchard, pruning and re-shaping all the fruit trees Winton Dale loves helping his mother and father in the orchard. His favourite job is looking after the bonfire but before he can do this, he has to rake up all the fallen leaves and twigs which he finds a bit boring and doesn’t particularly enjoy.
Iona Dale has been given the very important job of collecting and sorting all the different types of fruit.

The Fox family are known in Sylvania as the Slydales.
Slick Slydale is a mine of information and very clever. He’ll know the answer to any question you ask him.
Velvette Slydale is always on the lookout for a bargain. She has been known to travel for miles and miles and queue for hours and hours just for the spring sales.
Skitter Slydale is always on the go, but like his older brother, he is a bit naughty. His favourite trick is to run off with his baby sister’s toys.
Scarlet Slydale spends hours brushing her tail and is very proud of its glossy, healthy condition

The Cream Cat family are known in Sylvania as the Keats.
Father, Rossetti Long fellow Keats, his delicate puff pastry is a special treat. The Pastry Chef extraordinaire, he fills the kitchen with panache and flair.
Mother, Bronte Keats runs the Patisserie like clockwork, hard graft she’s never known to shirk! Efficient she is in every way, she even has time to chat and play.
Brother, T S Eliot Keats, a name no one beats. The longest name of all, a real mouthful to recall. So Bronte has shortened it a lot, from Tennyson Swift to TS Eliot.
Sister, Shelley Keats, the apple of her father’s eye, works with him and makes him sigh.

The West Highland Terrier Family are known in Sylvania as the Mcwalkies.
Angus McWalkies is the father in this family, he lives in Sylvania with his family, they grow fruit and vegetables and sell on market.
Murial is the mother who is always busy in the home.
Hamish is the brother who loves to walk in the hills.
Janet is the sister who wants to be a poet and writer when she grows up.

The Guinea Pig family are known in Sylvania as the Pettyfurs.
Father Peter Pettyfur is a great ideas man when it comes to saving money. "Turn the lights out and the TV off when you leave the room." "You only need four inches of bath water."
Mother Penny Pettyfur is a very caring person who sorts out everyone's troubles and problems. She has time for all, but no time for silly ideas or arguments so she agrees with her husband Peter's latest wonder plan with a wink and smile to the children!
Brother Andrew Pettyfur is the hardworking member of the family, he has to be because he aims to keep the peace by implementing his father's money saving ideas.
Sister Nicola Pettyfur is the 'saleswoman' of the family which is why she loves her father Peter's ideas.

The Chocolate Rabbit family are known in Sylvania as the Chocolates.
Father Frasier Chocolate has been making sweets since he was a young boy and he's now a confectioner of the highest calibre.
Mother Teri Chocolate makes all the fillings for Frasier's chocolate creations, the strawberry surprise being the best.
Brother Coco Chocolate is not permitted to help his father or mother in the preparation of their chocolate concoctions because he eats more than he makes! He's put to useful employment being the delivery boy for the family.
Sister Freya Chocolate, unlike her brother, doesn't eat sweets or chocolate so she helps her mother prepare the fillings. She does eat a lot of fruit though!

The Panda family are known in Sylvania as the Bamboos.
Father Bertram Bamboo writes important books about the history and founders of Sylvania
He is also famous for being very accident prone!
Mother Alexandra Bamboo likes helping everyone and does lots of charity work raising money for good causes and important projects. School governor, village councillor, chairperson of the Women's Union, any job, Alexandra is always ready to take it on!
Brother Kane Bamboo plans to follow in his father's footsteps and become a writer. Unfortunately he's also accident prone just like his father!
Sister Clarice Bamboo absolutely adores horses and spends all her time at the stables looking after them. One day she hopes to be a famous rider and showjumper.

The Dormouse family are known in Sylvania as the Hazelnuts.
Father Sidney Hazelnut is a bed maker and a very good one too! His beds are very special because he insists on testing each and every one of them himself. Unfortunately, because they're so comfortable, he keeps falling asleep and just can't keep up with customer demand. Mother Mona Hazelnut complements her husband's work perfectly by making bed linen, quilts, pillows and bed covers.
Brother Otto Hazelnut, like his father loves his bed. His mother has to call him at least three times every morning to get up for school.
Sister Odette Hazelnut is a very quiet, softly spoken, shy young lady.

The Persian Cat family are known in Sylvania as the Persis.
Father, Septimus Persis, is a master craftsman making the most beautiful, colourful rugs that Sylvania has ever seen!
Mother, Salome Persis, is an artist and draws her inspiration from nature, she creates a lot of the intricate designs, sitting and painting for hours!
Brother, Nolly Persis' idea of the 'purrfect' day is to play in the garden, his favourite pastime is to climb up all the different trees but always seems to get stuck up the biggest tree!
Sister, Sadie Persis likes nothing better than to curl up with a good book, reading in the sunniest part of the house!

The Celebration brown bear family are known in Sylvania as the Timbertops.
Father Taylor Timbertop is a great big softy who adores his children, showering them with hugs and kisses whenever he gets the chance.
Mother Rose Timbertop loves not only her own children but all the children in Sylvania which is why her house is always full of noisy youngsters having fun.
Older brother Birch Timbertop is a great explorer. He knows every path, trail, cave, hollow tree and inch of the Sylvanian woods.
Older sister Ivy Timbertop loves sewing and needlepoint. The first shirt she made was for her father, it was not one of her better creations!
Brother Bud Timbertop is very keen on all types of sport. Whether it's swimming, running, jumping, rugby or tennis, Bud is always the first in line.
Sister Daisy Timbertop wants to be older so she can cook without her mother's help or sew without sister's help.
Baby Burl Timbertop takes after his oldest brother Birch in that if you let him loose in the house he goes off exploring.
